Website Updates: November 2025

For many years my partner and I have been working with the Lojong slogans more or less daily, as part of our practice together. Over this past summer we worked our way through all the slogans two or three times. Through this repetition, I noticed things in the commentary that I thought could use some attention. Many of them were relatively minor, such as adjusting the volume of the recorded commentary or editing a few words here and there. Some of them were more involved, revising and/or expanding on the commentary for certain slogans.

Over the past week I have found more time and inclination for website work, so it’s complete! Here are all the slogans whose commentary has been significantly revised and/or expanded:

  • Slogan 4: “Self-liberate even the antidote.”
  • Slogan 8: “Begin the sequence of sending and taking with yourself.”
  • Slogan 9: “Three objects, three poisons, and three seeds of virtue.”
  • Slogan 10: “In all activities, train with slogans.”
  • Slogan 14: “Don’t ponder others; Don’t talk about injured limbs; Don’t malign others.”
  • Slogan 15: “Don’t wait in ambush; don’t bring things to a painful point; don’t try to be the fastest.”
  • Slogan 16: “Don’t make gods into demons; abandon poisonous food; don’t act with a twist.”
  • Slogan 18: “Don’t transfer the ox’s load to the cow.”
  • Slogan 22: “Four practices are the best of methods.”
  • Slogan 24: “Of the two witnesses, hold the principal one.”
  • Slogan 28: “Don’t misinterpret.”
  • Slogan 34: “Work with the greatest defilements first.”
  • Slogan 35: “All activities should be done with one intention.”
  • Slogan 37: “Two activities, one at the beginning and one at the end.”

I hope that the revised and expanded commentaries are a contribution to your understanding and practice. May all beings benefit!
