This is one of my favorite slogans! It points to how anyone – EVERYONE – is always available as a teacher to help me see my blind spots. Sometimes my best teachers are the ones who I find the most difficult and annoying and wish would just get out of my life. I can choose to cultivate gratitude for the “difficult” people in my life and pay attention to what I learn about myself through my experiences with them. When I open to a person or situation and connect with Basic Goodness , I can surrender to the situation and be more likely to communicate. As Pema Chödrön says, “…when you’ve met your match you’ve found a teacher.”
